Why would you say that? Because we think that without a good education, you would need a serious stroke of luck to get a good job! Once again, our society’s beliefs about how to create wealth and prosperity are firmly anchored in the fact that you have to be smart, and/or you have to have access to a great opportunity in order to create wealth.
So, if that is the case, then we are also saying that unless someone is smart, or unless they magically find one of these opportunities, then they automatically don’t have a chance for true wealth or prosperity in our world.
That is also utterly and completely false!
The truth of the matter – and the point of this article – is that knowledge is useless unless you APPLY it to something that is worthwhile to you. Those doctors and lawyers that we talked about earlier wouldn’t make a dime if they didn’t use their education to provide their high-priced services.
On the other hand , those high school and college dropouts that we discussed earlier can – and have – created fortunes by taking some small bit of knowledge or experience that they have, and using it to provide products, services, or opportunities that have in turn created great wealth for them.
This concept is very, very important to the person who is seeking self improvement and self development! There are thousands and thousands of books, audios, educational courses, and other resources available for the average person who wants to improve their life. These resources range in cost from free, up through many thousands of dollars.
And they are all completely useless unless you actually USE them! Too often people find some “answer” to their life’s problems in a book, a course of education, or simply in some bit of free advice that they picked up. Then they jump up and down for joy, rejoicing in the fact that they have finally “figured it all out”, and now they can go forward and find the happiness and prosperity that has been eluding them their entire lives!
